Christmas in July (a little delayed) ~~ Sweet Inspiration and Sweet Magik by Penny Watson

Sweet Inspiration (Klaus Brothers #1) by Penny Watson

What if the legend of Santa Claus is in fact, true? What if Santa has five big strapping sons who help him run his empire? Five single, sexy sons looking for romance…

Nicholas Klaus is a master pastry chef, a strict disciplinarian, and the eldest son of the legendary Santa Claus. One look at café owner Lucy Brewster sends him into an unexpected tailspin of lusty desires. When Lucy is injured, Nicholas makes a decision that catapults both of their lives into turmoil ….

Lucy Brewster, the free-spirited proprietor of Sweet Inspiration, has a flair for concocting sugary confections but no time for adventure. She gets more than she bargained for when she awakens in the North Pole…rambunctious elves, a fitness-obsessed Santa, and the man of her dreams. Does she have what it takes to become the next Mrs. Klaus?

Sweet Inspiration was the second romance novel that I ever read and I loved it. It’s light hearted, whimsical and quirky. Nicholas is drawn to Lucy at first because of her baking. It’s a passion they both share as well as, it turns out, a passion for each other. Nicholas is a big, burly, bearded man, as  one might expect from a son of Santa Claus, and the heir apparent to the main family business of bringing Christmas to the kids of the world. When things go pear shaped and Lucy ends up back at the North Pole, the fun really begins. Meeting the inhabitants of the North Pole as Penny imagines them was wonderful.  Getting to see the North Pole as Lucy learns her way around was so much fun. Watching Nicholas and Lucy fall for each other was wonderful. This really is a fairy tale love story.

Sweet Magik (The Klaus Brothers #2)

Oskar Klaus’ job is killing him. Not even his favorite hobbies (extreme snowboarding and browsing old bookstores) are enough to snap him out of his funk. It’s not easy living in the shadow of four successful older brothers and a father named Santa. Little does he know that a kiss on New Year’s Eve is about to turn his life upside-down.

Kiana Grant’s Manhattan life is a world away from her childhood in Oahu. She traded sunsets and surfing for a respectable career in library science, but Oskar Klaus is a temptation that’s hard to resist. Before she knows it, she’s in the midst of an outrageous adventure in the North Pole, dealing with mischievous elves, wicked demons, and a devastating attraction to Santa’s youngest son.

There’s just one problem…a bitter elf hell-bent on revenge threatens the future of everyone in the North Pole, even Santa himself…

I was so excited when I found out the second Klaus Brothers book was coming out last November. I had had so much fun with the first one, I wanted to see what story Penny came up with for the next brother. Oskar and Kiana’s story did not disappoint. In fact, I liked this story a little more. Part of it was that I knew the characters. As much as I loved meeting them all in the first book, we get to know them more in the second. There is also more that goes on in this book. We not only get to know the Klaus family better, the elves play a bigger role in this story which makes Penny’s world seem more real, more substantial. And now I am yet again, waiting excitedly for the next installment of this series!

Six of Heart by LH Cosway

Synopsis 3

Step right up and meet Jay Fields: Illusionist. Mentalist. Trickster.

I think in triangles. You think in straight lines.

I show you a table and make you believe it’s a chair.

Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, misdirection. I trick and deceive.

But most of all, I put on a good show.

The world thinks I killed a man, but I didn’t. Bear with me. It’s all a part of the plan.

Revenge is what I want. I want it for me and I want it for her.
I want it for all six of us.

She doesn’t remember me, but she’s the reason for everything. She’ll be my prize at the end of all this – if I can hold onto my willpower, that is. Maybe I’ll slip up a little, have a taste, just a small one.

So go ahead and pick a card. Come inside and see the show. Look at my hands, look so closely that you can’t see what’s happening while you’re so focused on looking. I’ll be destroying your world from right here in the spotlight.

You’ll never see me coming until it’s too late.

I’ve only got one heart, and after I’ve pulled off my grand deception I’ll hand it right to her.

So, sit back, relax, and let my girl tell you our story. You’re in for one hell of a ride.

5 Pennies

It has become clear to me that I just love everything that LH Cosway writes and the day I meet her, because this *will* happen, I will most likely hug and never want to let go.

I have a really hard time reviewing books I love. I want to list my favorite lines, but so much of this book was a favorite line I would be endanger of reprinting most of the book. I want to tell you all the reasons I love the characters, but spoilers!

LH Cosway writes books that are different, refreshing, unexpected, with characters who are interesting, layered and you bring them into your heart. I love them all, even the ones I hate, because they are so well written.

The story itself is wonderful. The relationships, the conflict, the mystery, everything is expertly woven together. The story has so much to it, but it’s not over done. It’s a perfect balance.

And then there’s the sexy! Lots of sexy and the slow burn. I love the slow burn. Jay and Matilda. I love Jay. I love Matilda. I love Jay and Matilda.

Jay can read people, he can control a situation because he knows how get the reactions he wants from the people around him. He’s definitely an Alpha male of the best sort. The kind with a good heart.

Matilda is the kind of heroine I love. She has lived through tragedy, like Jay, but where it has shaped her life with her father it hasn’t taken her spirit. Matilda is mild mannered with a strong character and she knows who she is. As her relationship with Jay grows, she doesn’t lose herself, they both become more.

Really, I can’t recommend this book highly enough. Let’s just say I give it a dollar.

Making my way down the narrow staircase that leads out of the building and onto the street, I bump into a tall man with golden-brown hair. I wouldn’t normally notice a man’s hair so specifically, but this guy has some serious style going on. It’s cut tight at the sides and left long on the top, kind of like a sexy villain in a movie set in the 1920s. I stare up at him, wide-eyed. He’s wearing a very nice navy suit with a leather satchel bag slung over his shoulder. Even though it was the first thing I noticed, his hair pales in comparison to the wonder that is his face. I don’t think I’ve ever been up close to such a handsome example of the male species in my life.

Why can’t men like this write to me online? I ponder dejectedly.

Because men like this don’t even know the meaning of the term “socially awkward,” my brain answers.

My five-foot-something stares up at his six-foot-whatever, and I think to myself, what’s a prize like you doing in a dive like this? Actually, now that I’m looking at him, he does seem vaguely familiar, but I can’t put my finger on where I’ve seen him before.

Probably on the pages of a fashion magazine, if his looks are anything to go by.

If it hasn’t already been deduced from the fact that I can’t even find a date using the romantic connection slut that is the Internet, then I’ll spell it out. I’m useless with men, and I’m talking all men. Even the nice approachable fellows. And I’m not looking at a nice approachable fellow right now. I’m looking at a “chew you up and spit you out” tiger.

Since the entrance to the building is so narrow, we have to skirt around each other. I give him a hesitant smile and a shrug. His eyes sparkle with some kind of hidden knowledge as he lets me pass, like beautiful people know the meaning of the universe and are amused by us ordinary folks who have to bumble along in the dark.

I’m just about to step out the door when the tiger starts to speak. “I’m looking for Brandon Solicitors. Do you know if I have the right place?”

I step back inside.

He sounds like Mark Wahlberg when he’s letting his Southie roots all hang out. His deep American accent makes me want to close my eyes and savour the sound. But I don’t do that – because I’m not a complete psycho.

“Yeah, this is the place. I work here, actually. I’m the secretary slash receptionist slash general dogsbody. It’s my dad’s firm,” I reply. Too much information, Matilda. Too. Much. Information.

The tiger smiles, making him better-looking, if that’s even possible. And thankfully, he doesn’t comment on my fluster. “I have an appointment with Hugh Brandon at nine. I’m Jay,” he says, and takes a step closer to hold his hand out to me. My back hits the wall, his tall frame dwarfing mine. I don’t think he realises just how narrow this space is, and now I can smell his cologne. Wow, it’s not often that I get close enough to a man to smell him. And Jay Fields smells indecently good.

“Ah, right. Jay Fields. Yeah, I have you pencilled in. You can go on upstairs, and Dad will take care of you,” I reply, shaking his hand and letting go quickly so that he doesn’t notice my sweatacular palms. “I’ve got an errand to run.”

He stares at me for a long moment, like his eyes are trying to take in my every feature, but that can’t be right. When he finally responds, it’s a simple, “I won’t keep you, then, Matilda.”

God. Why does the way he says “keep you” in that deep voice have to make my heart flutter? It’s been literally thirty seconds, and I’m already well on my way to developing a crush. He makes some keen eye contact with me, then turns and continues up the stairs to the office. I’m already on the street when I realise I hadn’t offered my name, and yet he knew it.

Review~~ Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan (Penny Maggie)

Posted on

I am breaking with our normal posting format because I am too excited to wait to award pennies to Archer’s Voice. I want to give this book ALL THE PENNIES! That’s right. I’m shouting. I give Archer’s Voice ALL THE SHOUTY PENNIES!!!! Now back to out regularly formatted blog post.

Archer's Voice

Synopsis 3

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

5 Pennies

5 Shouty Pennies because that’s as high as we go.

Archer’s Voice is one of those books that gets into your head and your heart. Two people who come together and help each other overcome the great moments of tragedy in their lives is not really a new theme in the romance genre, but the way that Mia Sherian handles this story makes it an absolute standout.

Bree Prescott move to a small town in Maine to distance herself physically and emotionally from a recent traumatic event that shattered her world. Archer Hale has lived in this town his entire life physically and emotionally separated from the people around him following the tragic event that took place when he was a child. All but invisible to those around him, silent as a result of the events that took place wen he was young, Archer is cut off from society and he’s built his life in this isolation.

New to the town and ignorant of the stories surrounding Archer, Bree sees something that one else does. Her persistent attempts to reach out to this silent, lonely man and connect with him are the foundation of the relationship that they both need to move back into the world after suffering great loss.

I loved how the characters developed throughout the story. Their growth wasn’t easy, or trite. Their reactions were realistic and believable.  I was so happy that Bree was not a damsel in distress, but strong woman who didn’t fall for the first handsome guy to flash a bright smile. And Archer wasn’t some wild man she had to tame, but a good hearted person who was made to feel inferior partly because of the thoughtless actions of the people around him. Theirs isn’t an easy romance, it’s a good romance. It takes work and communication and learning over time that you can indeed feel safe putting your trust in another person.

For Archer, communication and trust are two things that he just doesn’t have when Bree shows up and becomes determined to get to know this hand who she sees is more the the people in town give him credit for being. Archer Hale has been isolated since he was seven, both by his living circumstances and his inability to speak. He is intelligent and observant, but almost completely ignorant of social conventions. Over the course of the story, though, he finds his “voice” and it is seeing this process, getting to know Archer, that really touched me in this story.

And finally, I have to mention the romance part of this book because along with wonderful characters Mia has written some seriously hot, I may even go so far as to say hawt, scenes. Not to give anything away, but just wait until you get to Archer’s haircut. Have a tall glass of something cool to drink near by because you just may need to take a moment. Archer Hale has claimed a permanent seat in the Pantheon of Book Boyfriends.

It’s really hard to keep your personal space open when you have a bunch of guys trying to grind on you. I’m looking around the dance floor trying to find one friendly face that interests me. Nothing. I look away, past the dance floor, and scan the crowd. My eyes stop cold when I see a pair of gray eyes that I have gotten to know too well these past few days. His square jaw tenses, and I can see from here how his pecs tighten against the dark gray short sleeved t-shirt he is wearing tonight. Oooh, fuckety fuck! I try to signal Ciara to look, but she is too busy making gooey eyes to a guy next to her. I look back to where Colton was, but I don’t see him. Did I imagine it? Am I losing my mind?
Three seconds later, I feel the heat and the energy behind me. I don’t need to look, I already know who it is. I make myself look over my shoulder to catch him giving the stink eye to all the guys around me. He smells great, and looks good enough to lick every single inch of his body. I gently smile and simply mouth the word “Hi.”
Colton gets closer until his hard body is perfectly aligned with mine. He gently removes my hair from the side of my face angled toward him and pulls it onto my other shoulder in order to uncover my ear, and then he gets closer and whispers… “You are a sight to see, Brianna. I’m taking a mental picture of the way you are looking so that I can use it later on to satisfy my… thirst. And girl, you smell like heaven. This is exactly where I want to be, nestled against my heaven.” I feel his hands grab my hips and he pulls me even closer to him. I hate to admit it to myself – It feels great!
He buries his nose on my neck and inhales deeply, moving his lips up my neck while breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth so I can feel the warm air, his warm air, against my very receptive, sensitive skin. His lips move ever so slowly until he places them, barely touching, lightly against the bottom part of my earlobe. This tame gesture makes me feel like a wild animal. There is a fire being ignited down there. Adrenaline is flowing through my body from top to bottom, causing the heat to rise up. I just know my cheeks are cherry red. Then I hear him breathing hard – his lips are still next to my ear – and that’s when he moves in for the kill: his teeth wrap the bottom of my earlobe and he pulls on it ever so gently. I close my eyes and give in to the sensation. His lips take over where his teeth had been and slowly move up my earlobe, his warm breath is intoxicating and I feel his tongue tracing a thin line around the edge of my ear.
When I can’t take it anymore, my eyes open wide and I start to peel my body away from his, away from him. He uses his large hands in an attempt to pull me back in, but I am stronger than the girls he is used to dealing with, and albeit he makes a good attempt, I pry loose from his grip. When I start to walk away, his hand grabs mine and pulls me in, like a well rehearsed dance move. Dear God! We are now face to face and I’m straddling his thigh. Giving me a sideway smile, that beautiful smile with the slight crooked tooth in the bottom row, all my senses are on full alert. I can smell his minty breath mixed with a sweet, cinnamon scent. He winks at me, and places his cheek next to mine, one of his hands is still holding my hand and his other arm is around me, they are such a sweet torturing device.
Since he is holding my right hand, I slowly move my left one from the top of his shoulder down to his pec, I stop at his nipple, and I graze it with the tip of my index finger, then flick it with my nail. It responds to my touch immediately, getting hard and taut. Two can play this game. I look at him and lick my top lip. I see him inhale deeply, closing his eyes and grunting. Smiling, I continue my south-bound exploration. As my hand moves, my fingertips can feel every ridge, every line of his well-defined abs. On the left side of my pelvis, I feel every inch of his most precious weapon. It is long, thick and it is strong. I want to look down so bad, but I don’t. Instead, I look up at him, and find that he’s looking at me with a tight jaw and stormy eyes. Oh-oh, I think I may have gotten myself in a deep, sweet mess. That’s when mercifully for me, the music set ends, and everyone stops dancing and leaves the dance floor.
He chuckles in my ear, and says “There is never a good time for this type of situation.” He looks down at me and continues “I’m going to need your help – can you cover me until we get to the table?”
“Sure thing. Just walk behind me.” I smile sympathetically at him, batting my eyelashes a little while wrapping his arm around my neck leading him away from the dance floor. Silently I wonder how I let myself fall into this situation, and yet I smile inside my head because I loved every second of it.
“Has anyone ever told you that you have a very dirty little mouth? I’m going to have to show you how much I love it. I like it that you don’t play games and you tell me exactly what you want and what you need from me. It is liberating. On top of that it’s so hot to hear you say those things…” I grab her hand and put it on my dick. “Can you tell what you do to me? How desperate you make me? How bad I want to be inside of you?”
“Colton, less talk, more action.” Then her hands are on my face pulling me towards her. Kissing her lips is fucking awesome. Brianna’s lips on mine make me feel things that were foreign to me, the way my heart beats faster, the way my skin sizzles when she touches me, and the fact that I do get nervous and want to make sure I do everything just right. Her kiss starts sweet and it deepens to an urgent hunger that we can’t quite satisfy because we just cannot get enough of each other. Our hands are all over each other’s body, exploring, feeling, touching, reaching, and experimenting.
“Oh, baby… I enjoy kissing you. Your lips are so soft…” I whisper with my mouth never leaving her skin.
Her tongue starts dancing with mine, going deeper. I can’t get enough of her. My hand goes down between her legs and she naturally spreads them open for me. I go round and round and enter her with my middle finger first. Her mouth stops kissing me, and opens seductively, taking a deep breath.
“Hmm, Colton, it feels so good. Feel me squeeze your finger, do you feel that?”
“Shit, yes, you are so tight!”
“That is exactly what I’m going to do to your dick when you put it inside of me.” Then she gives me a wicked grin.
“Hmm, that sounds good. You are so ready for me.” I kiss her neck and then bite it gently. It’s time for me to take control. I grab a hand full of her wet hair and pull her back until her tout nipple is puckering for me to take. My mouth naturally goes to take care of it. I lick around it a few times and finish by sucking hard and biting it until I hear her hiss. Listening to those sexy sounds coming out of her throat and mouth, drive me into a primal state. My mouth is on hers while my hand continues to massage and coax her needs.
“Don’t stop, please, Colton, I need it!”
I have two fingers inside of her and my palm is massaging her clit with every push. I can tell she is getting ready as her walls tighten. I have my middle finger curled up and with every entry I make sure to touch her special spot.
I move my other hand from her hair to her waist when I feel her legs are giving in. Her body is arching back, her mouth is full of sexy moans and I know she is close. There is no description for being able to watch Brianna enjoy the pleasure that I am giving her. It’s is so fucking exciting that I am afraid I may come before I can even put my dick inside of her.
She is trying to open her eyes, but the intensity of what is building up is keeping her eyes closed. “Baby, look at me.” They flutter and luckily, this time instead of fear I see nothing but need. “Good. You are so fucking perfect. Come for me.” I drive my fingers in and out of her faster and harder and seconds later, I have what I was waiting for when she buckles over and over against my hand.
I grab her ass and press my erection against her and I wait for her to ride this wave. Once she stops trembling, I whisper in her ear how much I enjoy seeing her explode with pleasure and how horny she makes me. Brianna smiles and whispers “Really? It seems you are behind on the score. What’s next?

Now that we got that out of the way, I’ll tell you what you need to know. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I went back to school in my late twenties and studied Stage Production Technology. I now work full-time in the alterations shop of a major department store and part-time in the various theatres around the area.

I’ve been an avid reader from a very young age and the top goal on my list of things to accomplish in my life was to write and publish a book. During the summer of 2013, while working backstage on The Lion King, I read eleven books in four weeks. I read my first New Adult book and was introduced to a genre I felt I could totally relate to. The idea for Perfectly Broken and the character of Lili was born backstage during that time.

“Are you alright, Pingu? You have a strange look on your face.” We are walking along the seafront towards the pier. It is a beautiful late May afternoon, and the sun is shining and glittering off the ripples cascading across the water. Gentle waves ebb and flow along the shoreline where children sit with their families building fortresses, and other unrecognisable structures, out of damp sand.

I stop walking and move around to stand in front of Craig, reaching my arms around his waist and snuggling into his chest. I take a deep breath in, inhaling his now familiar earthy scent mixed with the fresh smells of the sea air. “I’m perfect. This is perfect. Thank you.”

“You are perfect. I’m glad you recognise that.” He smiles as he looks down into my eyes and wraps his own arms around me. He places a kiss on my forehead, leaving his lips attached to my skin. Why did I spend so many years wasting my life on a man that basically thought he owned me but had no interest in really being with me? I have missed out on so many days like this.

Becki was right with what she said. I’m starting to see that everything does happen for a reason. Maybe I was meant to stay with David until now so that I could be right here, right now, with Craig. He really is my Silver Lining. He gives me hope and optimism for a brighter future, despite whatever issues he has going on at the moment.

We spend the next few hours strolling around town, looking in shops, chatting about anything and everything, and just enjoying being together. When my stomach suddenly growls rather loudly, letting me – and probably everyone else in Paignton – know that it’s time to eat, we grab some Fish and Chips and sit on the pier eating them. Craig wanted to take me into some fancy restaurant, but relented when I started ranting about not being able to come to the seaside and eat fish and chips out of the paper. “It’s a British tradition,” I argued.

With our stomachs full, we kick our shoes off and take a stroll along the sand. The beach is quieter now, the falling early evening temperatures driving families back to their hotels or wherever it is they came from.

“You’re a bit of a snob, do you know that?” I say to Craig as we walk along an almost deserted area of the beach. I’m walking backward, facing him and laughing.

“Oh yeah?” Craig quirks an eyebrow. “How’s that?”

“Only snobs would be snobbish about eating fish and chips and candy floss when they come to the seaside. These are staple Seaside requirements, Mr Silver, along with making sandcastles and… this…” I flick my foot in the shallow water and splash him.

“Oh, you’re in for it now,” he growls, staring into my eyes.

Shit, this isn’t good. He has a devilish look in his eyes that makes me want to jump on him and flee at the same time. I gulp when he flinches and as quickly as I can, turn on my heels and run away from him, squealing in laughter, running as fast as I can through the soft sand.

I’m laughing and trying to catch my breath while evading Craig’s attempts to catch me. When I hit a large ditch in the sand, I stumble, giving Craig the perfect opportunity to lunge forward and grab me around the waist. The momentum from his attack causes me to lose my balance and we both crash down onto the sand.

Turning over quickly onto my back so I can swipe the sand away from my face, I look up to see Craig leaning over me. He is breathing heavy, his chest rising and falling sharply with each laboured inhale and exhale. We are both laughing uncontrollably, trying to catch our breath. My heart skips a beat looking up at him. He looks so young and carefree; a stark contrast to his usual cool, calm and controlled demeanour.

Our eyes lock onto each other and the laughter immediately ceases. We simply remain frozen in time, lost in each other’s gaze. I vaguely hear music in the distance, the song being carried along by the gentle sea breeze. The words from “What About Now” by Daughtry filter into my emotion filled haze.

“Craig, I…” I’m cut off by a pair of soft, warm lips pressing down on mine. He doesn’t try and deepen the kiss, just remains hovering over me with our lips locked.

Expected date of publication: March 24th 2014

Book SynopsisMy name is Jade Lennon and I stand still for money.

The night I saw Shane Arthur watching me everything changed. A man in a suit always catches my eye, but it was the way he looked at me that was different. Like he knew me or something. He didn’t know me, especially not in my costume. My sobriety rests on staying away from men, but there was something about him that made me throw caution to the wind.

After all, I was never going to see him again, right?

Standing still isn’t the only way I make my money. I also bartend at a concert hall. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Shane was going to show up there. Not only that, but he’s the most recent addition to the orchestra. So now on a daily basis I have to resist one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever met and he plays the violin. For me that’s one hell of a deadly cocktail.

He wants me to teach him how to live. I’m not sure how much a twenty-six year old recovering alcoholic who works in a bar and moonlights as a living statue can teach a world class concert violinist, but I’m sure going to try.

Still Life with Strings is a story of music, art, sex, magical realism, and romance that you will never forget.

I thought that instead of writing a traditional bio in third person, I’d put together some semi-interesting facts about myself. Here it goes..

I was born in London and when I was very little I had an English accent. Approximately two times a year I’ll say something and it will come out sounding English.

I once played in the same park as Cat Stevens’ kids. I have a vague memory of a dark haired man wearing a long black coat.

My family moved to Ireland at the beginning of the summer holidays, which caused me to mistakenly think that school didn’t exist here. I was in for a rude awakening.

When I first started primary school I didn’t say a word for months.

I spent two years in a children’s singing group that recorded CDs of religious and educational songs to be used in Irish classrooms. I have it on good authority from a teacher friend that these CDs are still in use today.

I remain a big fan of education. Religion, not so much.

When I was ten I wrote a comedy story about a cat for my teacher. She was so impressed that she showed it around the staff room and all of the teachers gave me £1. I am still quite proud of this.

My mother has several black belts in Karate.

For one year I attended an all girls convent school.

In my other secondary school there were roughly ten boys to every one girl. I soon learned that teenage boys have the personalities and brain capacities of a bunch of monkeys. Actually no, that’s being unfair to the monkeys.

I should have never left the convent school.

One of my first crushes was on Ricky Martin. This would be the beginning of me fancying a long line of gay men.

My favourite childhood film was Strictly Ballroom. I could probably recite the script from beginning to end.

My body has been pierced ten times. I got my first tattoo at 19.

For three years in my teens I wore nothing but black from head to foot, with the occasional splash of red, white or purple only.

When I was 18 I wanted to be a rock singer. A word to the wise, boys only ask girls to be in their band because they want to have sex with them.

The idea of having a wedding day is one of my biggest nightmares.

A disturbingly high proportion of the friends I had growing up turned out to be psychopaths.

I finished my first full length novel when I was 20, as it happens the entire book was self indulgent rubbish.

I currently have eight unfinished novels on my laptop.

My decision to study English Literature in college was a last minute change of mind. Up until that I had been planning to become a nutritionist.

My favourite city in the world is Edinburgh.

Sometimes I cut my own hair.

I think that imperfect people are the most interesting kind. They tell the best stories.
