Lighthearted and funny, Sean Benson has everything he wants: family, friends, and a successful business with his best friend. After the death of her mom, Savanna Davis left the life she never wanted behind, in search of the family she never had.
When Savanna is attacked at Sean’s bar, he clumsily comes to her rescue. Unable to get the green-eyed beauty out of his mind after parting ways, Sean sets out to find her, and inevitably comes to her aid again by offering her a job at Chrome.
Savanna is determined to not lose sight on why she came to Virginia in the first place, while Sean is determined to show her just how great they could be together.
Unexpected discoveries drop a bombshell on the entire Chrome family, putting Sean and Savanna’s new relationship to the test.
Will Sean’s loyalty to his friend ruin his chance at finding Love?
After Savanna’s mother passes away, she decides to go in search of the brother she didn’t know she had. All she had was a picture of her mother holding a baby boy and a first name, Ryan. Not much to go on, but when you have no family what do you have to lose.
Sean is a care-free guy, with a great family and owns a bar with his best friend. He had no idea when he stopped a girl, Savannah, from being attacked behind his bar that this chance encounter had the potential to change his life.
After beginning to work for Sean and Blake, Savanna starts to grow friendships with the owners as well as Avery and her friend Morgan. Throughout this book we are shown in more ways than one that blood does not make a family, it is the support and love that makes a family.
Sean becomes somewhat of a white knight to Savanna throughout the book. Their friendship is fun to watch it develop.
A statement that Savanna makes to Sean just melts my heart, it is so true and heartfelt; “Sean, do you know why I want to be with you? It’s not because you gave me a job or a place to stay or even because you are a great lay…It’s because when I am around you, life is easy. My life has never been easy, but with you…I get the chance to be me.”
The cat and mouse game that ensues with Sean’s unwillingness to give up trying to get Savannah to go out on a date with her is comical to watch.
Along with all of the fun and games that goes on throughout the book, there is also the serious matter of Savannah wanting to find her brother and to figure out where she truly belongs. When she finally does locate her brother it is a shock to everyone involved and puts friendships to the test.
This book is amazing. I loved Savannah’s no-nonsense personality and her unwillingness to give in when the going gets tough. The connection and chemistry between Sean and Savannah is evident from the start. I loved that Avery and Blake were in this story as well. I hope that there will be more to come in the future for this makeshift family of misfits.
I have to share this dialogue between Sean and Savanna, it further demonstrates the great guy Sean is and that he is true and he gives from his heart… (I just find it really touching <3)
One of the speeches that Sean gives Savanna after she confesses; “I wanted her dead. I was relieved when she finally died. What kind of person feels like that?” (In reference to her mother’s death) Sean states, “A person who was dealt a shitty hand, Savanna. A person who suffered more than her share for way too long. A person who is strong in spite of living a life that would break most people….hands down you are one of the strongest people I know”
Taryn discovered her love for books at an early age, spending many hours lost in someone else’s story.
It wasn’t until well into adult hood that she discovered, late at night while the house was quiet, that she had just as many stories inside her just waiting to be let out. Writing has been a way for her to step away from reality and live a bit through her fun and sometimes damaged characters. You will almost always find a Happy Ever After at the end of her stories. She can’t help it, it’s an addiction.
She’s a Southwestern girl living a Mid-Atlantic life with her husband of seventeen years and two incredible daughters who inspire her daily. She is proud to be an advocate for her child with autism, and feels incredibly blessed to be able to see the world through her eyes. Her daughters teach her more than she could ever teach them.
She enjoys reading, writing and spending time with her family, but cherishes those quiet nights after everyone is asleep when she can curl up on the couch with her fifteen year old dog. (Shh, don’t tell…He’s not supposed to be on the couch.)
Keep an eye out for more from her!
