Wes Jensen just lost the sister who raised him, and gained custody of his niece. The last thing he needs to add to his full plate is dealing with Braden Roth, the one-night-stand who continues to try to push his way into Wes’s life. He has a kid to raise now, and Wes isn’t great at getting close anyway.
Braden has never had a woman or a man sneak out on him the morning after. From the start, Wes intrigues him, and Braden isn’t one to deny himself something he wants. And he wants Wes. The more time he spends with Wes and the little girl who constantly keeps them on their toes, the more Braden realizes this isn’t just about getting the guy who walked away.
As their lives intertwine more and more, Wes discovers Braden isn’t as shallow as he thought. But after everything Wes lost in his life, he isn’t sure he can risk his heart, and truly want Braden to stay—and if he did, would Wes’s quiet life be enough for Braden?
Wes has had his life turned upside down, he has lost his sister, gained a child to raise, lost his boyfriend. Wes thinks that everyone he loves will leave, so that leaves Wes broken hearted and alone.
Braden is a fun loving guy, always marching to the beat of his own drum, but there is something about Wes that pulls Braden in. Braden doesn’t realize that to get Wes to open up and let Braden in, will be as hard as it is.
Wes is guarded, he has to guard Jessie too, but will that leave him able to open up his heart to the man who is always there to help anytime he is asked or needed?
The story of Wes, Braden, and Jessie is heartwarming, heart wrenching, and eventually makes your heart soar. It is not an easy journey for any of the characters, but seldom things in life are. I completely found myself sucked into this book and this world, and I found myself so sad to have to leave when I finished the book. Riley Hart has the ability to pull you into the story, and make you want to yell at the characters when they are acting so hard-headed. And cry with them as well, when they finally realize that while life is hard, life and love is always worth the struggles it brings.
I personally can’t wait to read all about Mason’s story. I will continue to read Riley Hart’s books, and if Collide and Stay are any indication of her writing style, Riley Hart has found a fan in me.
I give Stay….
